Electrician

Duties

Install, service and maintain electrical systems in commercial properties to a high-quality standard in line with the current edition of IEE Wiring Regulations. To trace, diagnose and correct faults using suitable assessment and measuring equipment.

Requirements

Candidates should:

  • Have an advanced level of skill, knowledge and experience of electrical works
  • Have a current accreditation on the prerequisites of BS 7671 17th Edition
  • Be fully familiar with the existing IEE Wiring Regulations Certificate
  • Currently have BS 2391 Inspection and Testing
  • Possess a knowledge of BS 5839 part 6 (design of fire detection installation)
  • Ability to trace, diagnose and correct problems and also understand and interpret work
  • Have experience working with guidelines, drawings and schematic images
  • Be able to prioritise workloads, be a team player, pro-active, self-motivated and also have good attention to detail.
  • Enjoy problem-solving
  • Possess good communicating skills
  • Function well under time limits
  • Have good time keeping and attendance

The post holder will also need a full driving license and can produce it when asked. A good working familiarity with Microsoft Office and knowledge of email is essential as results are sent weekly to the office.

Experience

Candidates must have completed of a recognised apprenticeship – NVQ / City & Guilds and must possess a minimum of 36 months experience working within electrical/mechanical engineering.

Working Hours

Hours of work may vary depending on the demands from the customer. All applicants must expect to be available to settle over night across the United kingdom at any time. Flexibility is vital.
